Sourdough Waffles
Makes 8 waffles
Ingredients:
2-3 cups active sourdough starter
3 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp sea salt
2 tbsp coconut oil or melted butter
2 tbsp maple syrup
Directions:
The night before you plan on making the waffles, feed your sourdough starter. You’ll need 2-3 cups of active starter for the recipe. I feed my starter with 50g starter, 200g flour and 200g cold water and that gives me the perfect amount of active starter for the waffles.
The next morning, when your starter is active and bubbly, preheat your waffle iron and mix all the ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
Cook the waffles then serve immediately with butter and maple syrup.
